What stays on your device
Everything you scan or create — codes, history, images, and settings — is stored locally on your iPhone. We have no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. We cannot see your scans, and neither can anyone else.
The one thing that leaves your device
When you scan a product barcode (EAN or UPC) and open its details, the barcode number is sent to public product databases to fetch information about that product:
- Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts, Open Products Facts (openfoodfacts.org)
- openFDA drug database (fda.gov), for medications
Only the barcode number is sent — never your location, identity, or anything else. These lookups are anonymous and are made only when you scan a product barcode.
Camera & photos
The camera is used exclusively to detect QR codes and barcodes in real time. No video or photos are recorded or transmitted. When you pick a photo to scan or to use as a logo, the app only reads the single photo you explicitly select.
Purchases
QR Studio Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payments are processed entirely by Apple — we never see or store your payment details. Your subscription or lifetime entitlement is verified on-device through Apple's StoreKit.
Tracking & advertising
None. There are no ads, no trackers, no third-party SDKs, and no advertising identifier collection. We do not build a profile of you and have nothing to sell.
Children's privacy
QR Studio does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. Because no data is collected, the app is safe for users of all ages.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change and the revised policy will be posted here. Material changes will also be reflected inside the app.
